Pop-up Card Close-up

This is a close-up of the pop-up card I made for the Challenge at The Cuttlebug Spot. I used the directions that were on Splitcoast Stampers. The only thing that I changed was that I went out to 1/4" instead of their 5/8". The background PP is by Doodlebug. Tree was cuttlebugged with the D'vine Swirls. The ornaments were circle punched from the CB Combo Snow Fun. The decorations on the front were from the CB Combo Treetops. The Merry Christmas was from a Cricut Cartridge. The ribbons were from my stash.

This was a lot easier than I expected it to be. Like they used to say to Mikey, "Try it you'll like it!"

The TREE of 2008

As usual, I am not doing something right. Live and learn. Sorry it has been a long time since I have posted, but there has been lots going on.

This is the Tree of 2008. It does not have near all of the ornaments that usually go on. I did not put any of the Hallmark ones on or any of the Hallmark miniatures on it. It was fun to do because our grandaughter helped!

Stacey's Challenge

Stacey at All Moments Remembered challenged us to use the Cuttlebug for a creation.

You all know I LOVE my Cuttlebug!

I used the 3x3 combo die/embossing folder called "For You." I also used the A-2 embossing folder called "Textile" for the background.

The metal is a duct tape foil in the heating aisle at

the hardware store. It is so easy and fun. I got the

3" wide roll.

The ornament is popped up, but it is hard to tell. The ribbon is from my stash.

Cuttlebug Gingerbread House

This is the finished Cuttlebug Gingerbread House. I made it as my entry into the contest for Remember This in Mexico, MO. To cast a vote, you have to bring in a canned good for the local food pantry. A great idea!

The top picture is the front of the house and the second picture is the back view.

I started with the base and covered the 7x8.5 chipboard using sugar coated white cardstock. Next I glued the "Snowflakes" by Little Yellow Bicycle on top. Next I started constructing the house. It is by Sweet Chips Chipboard. This one is "Little Folding House." I then cuttlebugged lots of patterns and started covering the pieces. The chimney was my own addition as it was not in the kit.

After I had the house all done, I started thinking about the add-ons. The large tree was three pieces that I cut and folded edges to the inside and then glued together. I glued on the decorations and then glued it down to the base. I made small trees and added them to two corners of the house. The medium sized tree was made with two triangles. Then a slit was cut from the top of one triangle to the middle and then a slit was cut from the bottom to the middle on the other triangle. I then slid the slots together to form this tree. I glued a snowflake to the top for the star. I cut out 3 embossed packages to put at the bottom of the large tree.

I made a walkway up to the front door and cuttlebugged it. I then used wire and glued on stars back to back on the wire, curled the wire and glued it into the chimney for smoke. I added a wreath on the back of the house.

I will post some detail pictures at the end of this hopefully! As you can tell it did not let me add more pictures, so I will have to do another post later.

This was sooooooo much fun! The possibilites are endless! I LOVE my CUTTLEBUG!

Challenge #8: An Altered Item

I used the ClearScraps Star shapes for this project. You can fold this up and send as a card. You can also use a photo where I used the village from the Cuttlebug folder of Winter Jelly.

The top and bottom stars are Cuttlebugged with "Snowflakes" and edged with StazOn "Eden Green". For the J and the Y, I used the Cricut cartridge of Base Camp at 1.5" on shadow. I cut these letters out of the 3" wide metal duct tape from the hardware store. I put these on top and after placing them I carefully used a stylus so that the silver looks embossed. I guess you could put the letters on the plain star and then emboss. To be truthful, I never have tried it that way. I used Copic marker R-29 to highlight the letters.

The "O" star was Cuttlebugged with "Swiss Dots." Then I used StazOn "Black Cherry" to color the points. I used Winter Jelly to emboss the white village scene and placed it behind the star. This is where you could add a photo. For the "O" part I used the Cuttlebug combo of "Holly Wreath." I cut off the bow of the folder and used real ribbon for the bow. I used a varigated green paper, red sugar coated paper for the berries and the Spica glitter pens for extra sparkle.

I used the Crop-a-dile to make the hanger holes. The red checked ribbon is from Ofray and the silver cord is from StampinUp.

You could make this wall hanger or you could do them separately for ornaments. Submit your altered items over a The Cuttlebug Spot and win a prize and see all of the ideas.

I know these are spread out very haphazzardly, but I did try to do them in order. These cards are all A-2s. Each Cuttlebugged background is cut 5"x3.75". I used a different folder on each card. The "inchie" quilt blocks are by PapertryInk. Patterned paper was all from my scrap pile. I colored all of the blocks in with my Copic markers.

I wrote the name of each block on the white paper rectangle with a very fine tipped pen except on the one block that they did not name. I have looked through lots of books and cannot find the name. If anyone knows the name please let me know. TIA

I found matching envelopes for the pastel cards. I am going to use white for the red ones. So far I have made 2 sets of these for gifts. I am also planning to make some Inchie gifts with these blocks too.

I have to get busy making my Gingerbread House for a contest at Remember This. I will post when I have it done. I am telling you in advance in case I am not here tomorrow. You will know what I am doing! TTYL

Pictures for All White Cards

Now maybe I can do this. These cards are all A-2s. I did the background embossing on 5.25x4" and glued to the front of the cards. For this part I used: Snow Dots, Swiss Dots, Christmats Ornaments, and Snowflakes.

On the ornament card I used the combo embossing folder and die cut: For You. On the other cards I used the Spellbinders Scalloped Circle Nestabilities and the Scalloped Square Nestabilities. I pop-dotted these elements for added emphasis.

The embossing folders used in this last part were: Winter Jelly and Winter House.

All White Cards are so easy and simple, but so effective. Try some now!

All White Cards

I do not know where this is going to end up. I did my pictures first and then tried to write, but I cannot seem to find the right place. This is supposed to go with the All White Cards. I love using all white. I used lots of different Cuttlebug embossing folders. I am in LOVE with that tiny machine!!!!!!

My Friend and Friends

My friend Julie on the left with her NEW camera that her Mom got her for Christmas. LUCKY

When Julie came over to help me get this blog up and going she brought along a couple of our friends from AMR (All Moments Remembered). May I introduce Flat Nicole and Flat Dee. They had a lot of fun seeing what they could get into in my basement scrap area while we were blogging. If I can tomorrow, I will post more pictures. TTYL

This 5x7 card is very unique because the ornaments can be untied and hung on the recipients own Christmas tree.

Ornaments: 2 ClearScrap ornament shapes, 1 ClearScrap blank sheet cut with the Sizzix "Round Ornament" die cut. Toppers made using sticky back duct tape from the hardware store. The cord used to tie them with is from StampinUp.

Cuttlebug Embossing Folders: D'vine Swirl for the large round ornament, Winter Jelly for the small round ornament, and Textile and Just My Type for the long ornament.

I also used Textile for the photo corners punched out using the StampinUp Double Photo punch.

Stamp: Inque Boutique "Nightingale" for the swirl at the top.

Ink: StazOn "Eden Green" and "Black Cherry"

Pen: Sakura's Clear Stardust Gelly Roll Pen. (It only shows up when the card is tilted a certain way.)

Copic Markers: R29 and G07 I colored on the small ornament being careful NOT to get it in the StazOn ink. It will work to ink on one side and color on the back side.

Paper: Georgia Pacific cardstock
